Inner-esting. Its probably the gas prices, people are not traveling as much. You know how when you get a house full of people they buy a couple dozen packs of beer?

Well lucky you, woo!

What a fun weekend G! Especially the tubing, I haven't done that in 6 years. And fireworks too? You guys went all out.

I'm glad the wine tasting was a hit! Increasing the rate of wine consumption one tasting at a time :)

I have a lot of guy friends who drink rose all the time and have no problem. I think if a guy is insecure about drinking one then he is also probably the same guy who has to order only big name cult wines to try to impress himself or someone else. I think rose has still not met its full capacity as so many people are still uneducated that rose is not a sweet wine but a wine that has structure from the skin contact of the grapes. I think rose still has a way to go.

Sounds like you had a wine-tastic night. Walking the line between attentive and overbearing isn't something a lot of people, let alone bartenders/sommeliers, master.

Thanks for the comment. Hope you'll stop by again soon!

There is no truly hard fast rule. In general not only are you right, but many whites actually begin to lose their freshness with age. Those wines intended to be drunk young, such as Sauvignon Blanc, Pinot Grigio or an Albarino, turn almost stale with age.

Others though such as some white rioja, Sancere and White Burgundy CAN improve with age. A caveat here is that there are many people that still prefer the age-WORTHY wines when they are young.

So again, you are mostly right, but...

Good question!

I always learned the white wines don't get better with aging apart from the odd champagne. is this accurate?
